Why is this campaign happening now?
The College of New Jersey is thriving, from top-tier academic programs and one of the nation’s highest four-year graduation rates to firm financial footing and excellent infrastructure and facilities. This campaign looks to partner the college with philanthropists who will support our students, faculty, and staff in their important work.
How does this align with the college’s long-term strategic plan?
The college’s long-term strategy centers on elevating academic excellence, modernizing facilities and programs, expanding educational reach, and positioning the college competitively for the future while ensuring financial sustainability. The campaign’s priorities revolve around scholarship support (to increase access), academic support (to enhance teaching and learning), student support (to benefit our core educational experiences), and capital enhancements (to support place-based learning).
How can I make a gift?
Visit our main giving website to learn more.
Can I spread my gift out over several years?
You can make a multiyear pledge, typically over three to five years. This structure allows our donors to consider making “stretch” gifts, which are larger than single-check gifts and can be paced to serve donors’ and the institution’s best interests.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. Please always consult with your financial advisors for specific tax benefits.
Will there be naming opportunities?
If you are interested in a naming opportunity, please contact Gregory Schmidt, chief development officer and campaign manager, at 609.771.2323 or schmidtg@tcnj.edu.
How will this campaign benefit current and future students?
The Elevating Excellence campaign will expand scholarships, strengthen academic programs, and enhance campus resources so today’s students have greater opportunities and access to the most distinct and important elements of a TCNJ education. Over the long term, the campaign will secure resources to ensure future students benefit from an affordable, high-quality education with modern facilities, innovative learning experiences, and strong career preparation.
How can I help beyond a financial contribution?
In addition to your financial support, we seek partners in hosting small gatherings with other alumni, attending larger campus-wide alumni events, re-engaging with your favorite faculty or department, and sharing the campaign’s message on social media.
